The Clean Technologies for A Net Zero Carbon Neutral Economy panel will explore possible paths, opportunities, and implications for Alberta’s energy system on the road to the goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Alberta’s power sector has already achieved significant GHG emissions reduction and will continue to innovate towards net-zero emissions, while maintaining energy reliability, security and affordability. The future of oil and gas production in Alberta is highly dependent on global demand for oil as well as the sector’s ability to significantly reduce emissions towards a net zero by 2050 path.
