Tim Shaw has nearly 20 years of consulting and strategic communications experience. At Tourmaline Oil, he provides guidance on engagement and advocacy initiatives across provincial, federal, and municipal levels. His background includes managing issues in healthcare, technology, and pharmaceuticals before transitioning to Canada’s energy sectors.

Tim Egan

Timothy M. Egan has been President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association since 2010, also leading CGA Enterprises Inc. and the Natural Gas Innovation Fund Capital Corporation. Previously, he was President of High Park Group. Egan holds law degrees from McGill and represents Canada on the International Gas Union.

Scott Volk

Scott Volk is the Director of Emissions & Innovation at Tourmaline Oil Corp.. Scott's focuses on developing and implementing sustainable innovation. With 20 years of experience and intimate knowledge of the natural gas industry, and deep understanding of emissions-reducing technology to this panel.

Dr. Ian Gates

Ian Gates is Associate Vice President (Research & Innovation), Director, Global Research Initiative in Sustainable Low Carbon Unconventional Resources, and Professor in Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. Ian provides leadership for the innovation teams across UCalgary's innovation ecosystem and advances the research and innovation agenda for the University Innovation Quarter.
